Chicago!

This weekend I get to go to Chicago for a girls weekend. A weekend full of bikinis, ladies, and girly drinks talking about girly things! Cannot wait to see my lovely ladies in Chicago! Is it Friday yet?

Memorial Day Weekend Crafts

Phew.
What.A.Weekend.

I was busy ALL weekend with 'memorial day' plans. This weekend was the weekend of Carb Day and the INDY 500 - two traditions here in Indianapolis that our friends and I attend. Not only did we have a fun and busy time with the race weekend but also being able to take my boyfriends sisters kids out to go fishing and cooking out with the family. Over the weekend I wanted to be a little "different" so I made a few headbands.

The first headband I made was the floral headband that I wore to carb day. As you can see below, it's super cute and really easy to make. I went to WalMart and purchased $3 dollars worth of flowers (4 in all). Next I pulled out my hot glue gun, my thread and needle, and an old white headband that I used to wear running.

Step 1:
Get your supplies you'll need in order to make the headband. Plain headband, the flowers purchased, matching thread and needle, scissors, hot glue, and hot glue gun.

Step 2:
Lay the headband flat on one side. Place one flower at a time and gradually sew the middle part of the flower onto the headband. After sewing each flower to the headband, spreading them apart as far away as needed so they do not clutter or do not stretch too far apart, start to hot glue the area where you sewed. This will ensure they won't fall out as well as make them more durable to hold in one particular spot.

Step 3:
ENJOY YOUR NEW HEADBAND!!!

I also made a custom American Flag headband, not as great of quality as the floral because it was much harder to make but I wanted to display the final piece that I made for my friend Darci.
